Someone of inspiration to me is Tara Starlet the fashion mother and daughter duo. They are inspired by vintage designs from the 1940's and 50's, I am really interested in their designs and may pursue to create some of my own garments using Tara Starlets style.

My current project.
My current project focuses around the idea of conformity, and how people feel the need to conform yet they like to put their own mark on it, its like 'conformity vs personality'. To start I looked at buildings and how they differ like regal building say a lot about the person inside of the building but it you cannot see their personality because you have not got access to the inside of the building juxtaposing that a high rise block of flats you can see the outside and it looks the same yet the people that live there differ the appearance by the choice of curtains... this project will develop into something bigger....

Just A Little Something...
As part of my A level project i focused on the 'Make Do and Mend' period of WW2.
During this project I made a selection of clothes, this skirt and top were my very first creations.
It was made out of all recycled fabrics, the skirt being out of a piece of scrap material from the art room and the top being from a bed sheet that I brought from a local charity shop.
Lucienne Day
I've been looking at Lucienne Day who was a textile designer most famous for her work in the 1950's. She was inspired by abstract art as a result she put her mark on post-war England by using bright colours and abstract patterns.
